See what level of fire coverage your home and business have in HRM. Halifax Regional Fire Department Policies manpower policies state the following:

• 2 personnel or less, at a fire scene, may not make an interior attack or rescue.
• 3 personnel or less, at a fire scene, may not make an interior attack. They may make a rescue under extenuating circumstances. 

• Dark Blue - Staffed fully 4-6 personnel
• Yellow - Understaffed sometimes 3-4 personnel 
• Pink - Understaffed - 3 personnel Most of the time
• Green - Understaffed -  2 personnel 100 % of the time
• Brown 100% volunteer response
